Our research program includes both NIH-funded and commercially sponsored clinical studies.  We offer both observational studies and interventional pharmaceutical studies.  Our current focus is in these therapeutic areas:

NASH/fatty liver disease:

-Our NASH program includes studies as part of the NIDDK-sponsored NASH CRN Database study and a clinical trial examining various doses of vitamin E for NAFLD/NASH (VEDS). 

-We also offer commercially sponsored therapeutic trials based on both non-invasive tests (MRI, MR) and liver biopsy as endpoints. 

-A number of trials are available for patients with all stages of fibrosis ranging from NASH without fibrosis (scarring) to NASH with compensated cirrhosis.

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC):

-We have ongoing Phase 3 and Phase 2 studies of novel therapeutic agents for treatment of PBC

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC):

-We have several ongoing Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials for PSC

Chronic hepatitis B:

-We currently have an ongoing clinical trial for patients with immune-tolerant chronic hepatitis B
